My major is biology and as of right now I despise it. For some reason The Ohio State University requires all of general chemistry as well as all of organic chemistry. The whole reason why I decided to major in biology is because I am not the biggest fan of chemistry. Along with this major I am a pre-med intent. Hopefully I will be able to get into medical school following my junior year, as of right now I am remaining hopeful. My plan is if I can not get into medical school then pharmaceutical school followed by nursing school and then physician’s assistant school. I know I want to do something in the medical field which is partially why I am majoring in biology. Another reason why is because of how much anatomy and physiology you have to take with a biology major. Anatomy and physiology is my favorite class and I can not wait till I get past all of this damn chemistry and into something im actually interested in. Also at The Ohio State University the biology department require for you to take one year of a foreign language which is completely baffling to me. What does a foreign language have to do with biology? I don’t see engineers needing a foreign language. It makes no sense to me at all, I hate Spanish and it happens to be one of my worse subjects. All in all im glad im in a biology major. My life will be so much easier after sophomore year.
I heard Chemistry is pretty tough, especially Chem 121. Fortunately, though I am in Engineering, my major does not require me to take any chemistry, which is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI am also a Bio major here and I also enjoy anatomy and the study of the human body. The only thing I dislike about the major is that we have to take all the chem courses and not a whole lot of anatomy and stuff.
ReplyDeleteI hate gen chem. I feel like osu makes it harder then needed.
