Blog 39: Grammar Rule

Basically like everyone else the problems with grammar that I struggle with the most are the usage of commas, semicolons, and colons.  If word didn’t have the green squiggly underlining id be a goner when it comes to papers.  Sometimes I feel like I get the use of a comma but I have to say usually it is a guess and when it comes to colons I am done for.  I am very glad that we are finally changing subjects for our blogs.  Although I have to say grammar is not something I want to blog about, ever.  I know to use commas whenever you want the reader to take a breath or pause and when there is an introductory phrase or word.  I also know that when there is a series of three items you use commas and besides this basic information there isn’t much else I know.  I really, really, really dislike grammar and I know  that it is useful and important to life today but I really can not get past the fact that I despise it.  I feel like grammar is a little stupid in everyday life, I feel like if you can get your point across then it doesn’t matter how you say it.  Basically grammar is the biggest waste of time to me; but I may just think that because I hate enlgish and almost everything that applies to it.  I like to read but I really do not like to write.  Yay I got 250 words!

  1. I hate comma usage too. If it weren't for spell and grammar check on Microsoft,my papers would be HORRIBLE!!!! They would be full of typos and random commas everywhere. I try to put them in the right spot but half the time i put them where they are not needed. It just gets frustrating. Also, it doesn't help that I never use commas in text message. That just makes the situation worse.
