Blog 43: Kettle Cart

When I was a wee lad in the Bronx of Detroit City (I used to live eight miles away from 8 mile, Big Beaver Road), my mom got me and my twin sister two Kettle Carts.  Kettle carts are like mini go karts but you pedal to move them.  They were awesome and so much fun we loved them.  Nearly every day you could see the two of us out in the street pedaling our little hearts out.  It was so hard to pedal them, by the end of a twenty minute session we both would be dead exhausted.  Ill never forget those carts, they helped make my sister my best friend back in the day.  Now since we are both way too big for the carts we passed them down to our devil neighbors, I never really saw them use the carts instead I would see them on the carts that had a battery in them and would drive around.  Its kind of sad that the carts aren’t being used since they promoted exercise and you would never have to wait to charge the battery.  That to this day was the best present I have ever had.  But I know this year for my birthday ill either be getting a new snowboard or a plane ticket to Canada.  Either one would be great and ill appreciate what ever gets opened on July second.  There is nothing better than your own little self propelled go kart!

  1. Kettle carts sound awesome. I feel like I would have loved them as a little kid. I think you show take those carts back from your neighbors and save them for someone who will appreciate them.
